He worked for the company in its various forms for nearly 43 years until taking redundancy from Alstom in Preston in June 2018 and is now currently seeking a fresh challenge.

David has very proudly represented Longford Ward in Stretford since 1991 and is currently Vice chair of the Licensing Committee and also a governor of Kings Road Primary school in Firswood.

He says ‘We have a big challenge ahead after taking control of the Council in May. There is lots that we need to do and limited resources with which to do it. It’s never always about money but we need to be honest about where we are and strive for a more democratic and open system of local government’.
